Laura Renwick's third victory at CSIO Gijón

Showjumping | International Showjumping - CSI 1* YH - CSIO 5* Gijón | WED30JUL-MON04AUG | Las Mestas | The winner of the last class of the third day, sponsored by Sony Vodafone, turned out to be Laura Renwick and her mare ‘Beluga’. She recorded 75.45 seconds. It was her third triumph in Gijón
Less than a second after her finished the chilean Samuel Parot with ‘Whisper HE’, followed by the brazilian Bernardo Alves and ‘Kingly du Reverdy’.

This class counted towards Longines FEI ranking. It was judged by a C scale and the course had twelve obstacles at a maximum height of 1.45 meters. Riders were supposed to gather skills and speed. If a horse dropped an obstacle, four seconds would be added to his record. Only five riders recorded less than 80 seconds.

About 8,947 people attended to Las Mestas to watch the 39 riders competing on this speed class.

In addition to Renwick, Parot and Alves, Andrés Rodriguez from Venezuela and his mare ‘Fifty fifty 111’ and the german rider Felix Hassmann and ‘SL Brazonado’, were fourth and fifth.

Álvaro Díaz wins the TPA Award

The rider Álvaro Díaz from Gijón wins the trophy of the Public Television from the Principado de Asturias. He was the best Spanish rider classified at the eighth class at the CSIO 5* 2014.

Four people win the most important bet

There were registered four winners of the most famous bet of the day at Sony Vodafone class. Each of them won 3,225€. The initial fund for today is 1,200€.

Equestrian social gathering at Tryp Rey Pelayo Hotel

The equestrian social gathering took place at Tryp Rey Pelayo Hotel at 21.30 pm. There were Marco Fusté, chef d’equipe of the spanish team; Julio Arias, rider from Asturias; and the chilean rider Samuel Parot. About fifty people went to the event and had a good time asking questions about different issues at the social gathering.
