Roger Yves Bost gets the first triumph for France

The second and third places were for Khalid Mohammed AS Al Emadi and his mare ‘Tamira IV’ more than three seconds later (46.38 seconds) and another French rider, Aymeric de Ponnat with ‘Armitages Boy’ (47.16 seconds).

This thirteenth class at CSIO Gijón 5* 2014 would count toward Longines FEI Ranking and would qualify for Grand Prix. About 6,127 people attended to Las Mestas. Sixty four riders took part at this class which was judged under a table A with jump off against the clock. The course had thirteen obstacles at 1.50 metres and sixteen efforts.

The jump off against the clock was a shortened course with increase of speed. It had seven fences. The riders participating had not made any fault in the previous round and this time, seven of them made clear rounds once again.


An overflowing victory

It was a brilliant round made by the number 17 at the Longines FEI Ranking. “It was very nice, I’m very satisfied with my horse” commented the rider.

Tomorrow morning he will decide which horse will participate at the Grand Prix. “I will choose today´s horse or ‘Castleforbes Rosie’” and he added that he will try to get the best position.

At the prize giving ceremony, together with Bost, Al Emadi and de Ponnat, were the British Laura Renwick with ‘Rembrandt Blue’ and the French Kevin Staut and ‘Reveur de Hurtebise HDC’.


Santiago Núñez Riva wins ‘Roibas Jewelry’ Award

The best placed Spanish rider was Santiago Núñez Riva. He got the ‘Roibas Jewelry’ Award at this penultimate day of CSIO Gijón 5* 2014.


Once again, only one winner in the triple combination bet

The same as the previous day, there was only one winner of the most important bet of the day. He won 7,119 € so the initial fund for today is 1,200€.
